Crazy trades at the draft alot of moves coming july 1st as well.

Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired goaltender Tomas Vokoun from the Washington Capitals in exchange for a seventh round pick in this year’s entry draft. Vokoun, 35, is eligible for UFA status on July 1, but according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie, he’s agreed to a two-year deal with the Penguins worth $2 million per season.

Michel Therrien appointed Head Coach of the Montreal Canadiens (again).

Sharks acquire defenceman Brad Stuart from Red Wings for forward Andrew Murray and a conditional draft pick in '14. Stuart becomes a UFA on July 1.

Craig MacTavish back with the Oilers as Sr VP of Hockey Ops.

Sens have re-signed Karlsson: 7 year/$45.5 million dollar deal. $6.5 a season.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired G Sergei Bobrovsky from the Philadelphia Flyers for three draft picks, including a second rounder (45th overall). Bobrovsky appeared in 29 games for the Flyers last season, picking up 14 wins to go along with an .899 save percentage and a 3.02 goals against average. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=398972

Tim Thomas has waived his NTC giving the Bruins the option to dump his contract.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded Jordan Staal to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a first-round pick (8th overall - D Derrick Pouliot), Brandon Sutter and Ryan Dumoulin. Staal turned down a 10-year contract extension with the Penguins on Thursday, which increased speculation that he might be dealt. The deal unites him with his brother Eric in Carolina. Full Story.

Leafs trade rights to Jonas Gustavsson to Winnipeg in exchange for conditional 7th-rounder in 2013. Gustavsson is UFA July 1. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=399072

The Dallas Stars have traded forward Mike Ribeiro to the Washington Capitals for forward Cody Eakin and a second-round pick (54th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=399013

The Anaheim Ducks have traded defenceman Lubomir Visnovsky to the New York Islanders on Friday for a second-round pick in the 2013 Draft. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=399011

The Pittsburgh Penguins traded defenceman Zbynek Michalek to the Phoenix Coyotes on Friday in exchange for defenceman Harrison Ruopp, goalie Marc Cheverie, and a third-round pick (81st overall) in the 2012 Draft. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=399048

The Boston Bruins have acquired fwd Michel Ouellet & a 5th round pick in the 2012 Draft (131st) from Tampa Bay in exchange for the rights to Benoit Pouliot.

who knows where the Tim Thomas show goes (or even when it started) I personally do not care what he does off the ice, just stay between those pipes....but everything gets so blown out of propotion especially here in Beantown and the fan base has even turned on him. We had to face the facts that he was going to leave us, just when was that going to be? we'll never know. is he going to retire? Holy hell, thank God the season doesn't start for a few months (maybe we'll get a good backstop for Tukka?)

And yet the Canucks have not made a single significant move.. Go figure with Luongo still waiting to see his faith.. :24:

I don't get how if luongo goes to the leafs it will help them.

Well for one, The Leafs will need to give up a hell of a lot for the Canucks to hand over the NTC to Brian Burke just because there is such a hate for him.. Basically the Canucks would want to make the Leafs look bad in the trade and Burke knows it.. This all goes back to when he tried to steal away the Sedin brothers and the bad blood started between management..

As for the Leafs they would be crazy to draw Loungo at this point.. Schnieder perhaps and even he will cost them due to the hate in Management..

Leafs sent goalie Gustavsson to Winnipeg for a future draft pick.

They also sent Schenn to Philly for van Riemsdyk.. Not sure if a player that misses games will help them much even if he is bigger..

The Coyotes got Michalek back from the Penguins for two prospects and a 3rd rounder... not bad at all. This should solidify our defense, and I think he'll be great paired up with OEL, giving us two very good defensive pairings with Yandle and Klesla as our #1 pair. I'd imagine that Aucoin will be retiring and Rozsival won't be re-signed. We're still taking phone calls on Yandle, but it's gonna have to be one hell of a deal for us to give him up. I think we'll probably trade off some of our defensive depth in order to get some offense, most likely in the form of a center.

The Hockey Hall of Fame will be welcoming four more members in the player
category this November, as the selection committee announced Tuesday that Joe Sakic, Mats Sundin, Adam Oates and Pavel Bure have been chosen for
induction.

Sakic won two Stanley Cups and finished his career with 625 goals and 1,016
assists in 1,378 NHL games. He started his NHL career in 1988 with the Quebec
Nordiques, moving with the team to Colorado in 1995.

Sakic's trophy case includes the Canadian Major Junior Player of the Year
Award (1988), Conn Smythe Trophy (1996), Lady Byng Memorial Trophy (2001),
Lester B. Pearson Award (2001) and Hart Memorial Trophy (2001).

Sakic, who played in a dozen NHL all-star games, won the world junior
championships, world championships, World Cup and Olympics in addition to the
Stanley Cup.

Sundin collected 564 goals and 785 assists from his 1,346 games in the NHL.
Best known as captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Swede also played for
Quebec and Vancouver.

Oates, who was named head coach of the Washington Capitals earlier on
Tuesday, retired in 2004 after tallying 1,420 points in 1,337 games with
Detroit, St. Louis, Boston, Washington, Philadelphia, Anaheim, and Edmonton. He
played in five NHL All-Star Games during his 19-season career and was named to
the NHL's Second All-Star Team in 1991.

Bure played for 12 seasons in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks, Florida
Panthers and New York Rangers, averaging better than a point per game in his NHL
career (779 points with 437 goals in 702 NHL games).

The 2012 class will enter the Hall on Nov. 12 in a ceremony that will be seen
live on TSN.

More to follow.

The Washington Capitals are going with a familiar face behind the bench, as the
club has hired Adam Oates as their new head coach. Oates, a former Capital who
was also chosen for induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Tuesday, was an
assistant coach with the New Jersey Devils.
