Are newsgroups still out there? How can I access them for free? Back in the dial-up days the old email program (I forget the name - Outlook Express??) I could access newsgroups galore. Some were stupid but many were very useful.

yeah they're still out there, you have to pay for a subscription normally these days as most ISPs don't include them with their services. Careful who you subscribe to, I've heard some pretty bad stories about overcharging and not being able to cancel your subscription etc. Look for some reviews first.
