The winner of the Ig Nobel prize in medicine was Francis Fesmire, of University Hospital in Florida, for a study that showed that intractable hiccups can be terminated by "digital rectal massage."
"Initially, gagging and tongue pulling maneuvers were attempted with no change in symptomatology, " Dr Fesmire wrote in a study published in the Annals of Emergency Medicine.
"Digital rectal massage was then attempted using a slow circumferential motion. The frequency of hiccups immediately began to slow, with a termination of all hiccups within 30 seconds," the valiant scientist found.
So, now you know ... and if you do get hiccups, don't ask me for help!

Well theres another way to treat hicups. Homely way, that actually works. You just need to scare the person bad who has hicups, with in seconds you'll see his hicups are gone! Can scare him yelling or blaming him for something, or anything! Dont know how it works, but it does!

Do you have any evidence to support that fact?

I do it when the missus has hiccups, works every time!

Personally, I loooooooooooooooooove the hiccups!
I dont know why people wouldnt like em.
There like little bursts of suprise that rise from your stomach to make a funny noise. The only time I dont like them is when I'm playing my saxophone, it makes a weird screeching noise and hurts everyones ears.
