This week, the newest image from Lionsgate Films was released to The Official SAW Fan Club I warn you, this image is the most graphic out of all that have been released.
You are seriously getting on my last nerve. Did I go and talk shit in your Assault On Precinct 13 thread? No. I could have, but I didn't. If you don't like SAW, then great for you. But don't go around acting like an immature shithead in every one of my SAW threads. Nobody's forcing you to see SAW IV. Nobody made you read my threads. I clearly state in the titles that it's a SAW thread, so if you see that, don't go to it!
And people like you are the reason I get so pissed off. People like you assume they're in this for the money. Bullshit. James Wan started this movie as a FILM SCHOOL PROJECT, and a friend found it and showed it to Gregg Hoffman, who took a risk and produced it. That is great inspiration for upcoming writers/directors like myself. It shows that you don't have to be some rich asshole to make a movie. He made SAW for under $1 million, and it pulled in over $103 million, just on box office alone! Not to mention the DVDs!
People like you are just plain ignorant. Darren Bousman could have dropped out of SAW IV. Leigh and James could have, the actors could have, every crew member could have said to Lionsgate, "That's it, I'm done. I won't do SAW IV". And Lionsgate would know that SAW IV wouldn't make money if they had to replace ALL the actors, including Tobin and Shawnee, and had to rehire so many crew members. Darren, Leigh, James, they all frequent the House Of Jigsaw message boards. They have stuck on for SAW IV, SAW V, and SAW VI because of US. Because of the fans. The HOJ boards have HEAVILY influenced SAW III and SAW IV. Maybe every other director in Hollywood is in it just for the money, cranking out sequels left and right, but the SAW crew isn't. They are doing it for us. Of course, money is a big perk, but they said on the HOJ boards that SAW IV was greenlit before SAW III even came out, because of us. Darren, Leigh, and James all admitted they were just about ready to drop out, but when they heard that some new writers and a new director were being hired, they all jumped back on, because they knew we wouldn't want some new people to ruin it.
So the next time you THINK you know anything about SAW, try looking at every other director, every other movie franchise in Hollywood, and then check out the SAW crew. You'll see a huge difference.
If Saw films didn't make money, there would be no more Saw films. Like them all you want, but don't think they aren't milking it for the moolah. It is a business after all.
I love how everybody makes a general assumption based on the majority of Hollywood. Darren gets paid a rediculuous amount to direct these movies. But what's happening after SAW IV? He said on his Myspace that he is finished, through, done, he's dropping out after SAW IV. He said he actually was hoping it would end at SAW III, but Lionsgate wanted a new movie, as did the fans.
Now, Lionsgate may be milking, but as for Darren and the crew, they aren't. Three people have already refused to return for SAW 5 because they're tired of these making SAW movies, and wanted it to stop at SAW III. They could stay on, and earn the "easy money". But they chose not to.
And NicAuf, you need to stop making generalizations about shit you know nothing about. Have you ever tried writing a movie? Filming it? No. I'm still in the process of making my own movie. Or at least writing it. Even Darren admits that it's harder than it looks. It may seem easy, but it's not.
Please I invite you to talk shit on my Assault on Precinct 13 thread. I could care less.
Of course they all came back, it's an easy paycheck.
Actually, you did say it's easy. That's what they do. NOTHING about making movies is an "easy paycheck".
When I said they'll make an easy paycheck I didn't mean because movies are easy to make. I meant that the actors know the movie will make money, so of course they keep on board. So you simply misinterpreted my statement.
You are still not getting it. I've said it before, the people are getting tired. Donnie Wahlburg said he doesn't want to do anymore movies after this. And you're still assuming that acting is an easy job. It can be very difficult. But hell, you seem to know so much more about movies than I do, so let's just drop it.
