I am so excited. I'll be moving into our new place when I head home the next time. We were renting from a friend for nearly 2 years and the place drove me CRAZY.

Here's my new kitchen...I am in love...

and my side yard...the barn needs work, but it's still great for storage...

and of course, my boy...not in the least bit interested...

Sam wondering if we are going to play today.jpg

nice place to kick the feet up and have a beer !

That's the plan....there's only us and the house across the street on a dead-end. It's nice and quiet.

The little fire pit in the yard, put the bbq in place and awayyyy we go!

where did you guys go house hunting this past weekend?

Well this weekend was just our first meeting with the realtor to get a feel for whether we want to work with him or not. We liked him a lot, he specializes in working with first-time home buyers and seemed to know the areas we were looking in really well. He just took us to 2 places that were close to his office that had open houses yesterday so that he could start getting an idea of what we were looking for aesthetically - one was in Jamaica Plain (too sketchy of an area IMO, I wouldn't feel safe walking home at night), and the other was in Brookline (neat property, but it was at the top of our budget with only 1 bedroom and 1 parking spot, so not an option either).

We sent him a list of condos we like in the Watertown/Newton area, and he's going to try and set some up for us to look at next weekend. We really want to stay close to the Pike so that it's easy for both of us to get to work. The 2-parking spot thing has really limited our search though, haha.

depending how far of a commute you want and proximity to any T stop is key too..Brookline/Newton area is rather pricey (old school monies and the prices too!) you might want to go deeper into the suburbs at that rate.

We've found 3-4 places in Newton that fit our budget & have what we're looking for. Most of the places we have found are in Watertown though - it's a newer up-and-coming area, and since there is no T stop there it keeps prices lower. We have a list of like 10-12 places we sent our realtor, and hopefully he can come up with some more. It's all really exciting! :)

No worries...you're making me home-sick! I grew up in Watertown - 12 Union St. to be exact. I can't wait to get back and visit. Still have family in Watertown, Newton and Brighton.

Oh! I didn't know you were from around here! I love Watertown, they've had so many new shops & restaurants go up, I think it's really where we want to be.
