New Music

Hey I was just wondering what's everybody's take on music nowadays. Personally there are very few recent bands that are actually talented. I don't think I have bought a CD of a band that has recently emerged onto the music radar. The only recent band that I like is Wolfmother. I loved it when they played Communication Breakdown (made famous by the beast that is Led Zeppelin).

Any other thoughts?

I think there is an absolutly insane amount of great new music coming out, from new bands and also from old favourites... but most of the ones I'm referring to aren't exactly charting and well-known.

Toronto is emerging as a great music scene in Canada now, which is great. It used to be exclusively Montreal and Vancouver that spit out the great sounds, but Toronto is catching up, so I have a lot of pride in Toronto artists (I went to college there).

Probably getting old but I think a lot of new bands these days are unoriginal and bland. Kids are getting pop idol kind of shit forced down there throat which has fuck all to do with talent and everything to do with image. There are some great bands out there but unfortunately they arn't getting the publicity they deserve due to the media being obsessed with over rated shite.

Its definitely image first and then talent second...maybe...if at all. Nothing new has struck me in quite some time.
