François Hollande.

He's going to be one of the few voices in the EU and Eurozone against extreme austerity. I read he planned a 75% tax rate on France's highest earners. That's steep by anybodies standards.

This is an interesting election, because all of the EU up to now has been centre-right, and implemented right-wing economic policies; but, at best, growth has been small or non-existent. So if France recovers, Cameron & Merkel will look completely inept. (more so)

when the country goes further in debt and realizes it takes more than taxing the rich then people will vote him out and the same merry go round will continue

One of the Presidential candidates was proposing a 100% tax on income over ~360,00 Euros.

Like with all politicians, he will need to "adjust" his political promises from the election to the reality of being in power. It amazes me how people over react to such situations.. from the far left to the far right, there is no country that is doing great at this moment except for communist China and even it faces problems.. Ironic isn't it..
