So I got myself some Brembo rotors and Hawk HPS Pads.

But first, I had to replace my caliper since it was fuggin up my pads.

Simple task eh? Yeah. Right.

Cotter Pin >>> me for one hour. Then I wised up and started hammering it. Well that sort of worked, I forget how I eventually got the fugger out, but it required cursing, alcohol, a cigarette and twisting.

^ completely disassembled down to the nub.

Two year old Rotor... now going to be sitting in the garage as a 'paperweight'. Leave your car sitting for FOUR WEEKS and yes, your rotors will rust too.

Close up of the caliper. I'd already reattached the ebrake cable. That cotter pin, just below the giant spring looking thing, Yeah. PAIN IN THE ASS!!! Both coming out and going back in...

Workbench area. I love this f'in garage!

What that fucked up POS caliper did to my pads AGAIN!
brakes5-2.jpg

(don't mind the killians, I wanted alcohol)

It's not quite as bad as the last time, but it was getting there. What was happening was the piston in the caliper was 'cockeyed' and kept pressure on the pads, forcing them onto the rotor. Grinding and fuckin' em up.

Here's the pad I replaced in 05. In two years my REAR brake was down this far, both times. Hopefully this caliper fixes the problem.

Thanks for watching! More pics to follow. We're going to do the rest of my rotors pads tomorrow, and hopefully have time to dive into my header/Short ram intake! :D

Note: (this is purely automotive, but if any mod/tim/Vs feels this should be put in the pics section by all means move it, doesn't make me any difference).

Anyway, here's one pic Brian took of me working on my passenger rear rotor/pad and caliper.

His 4" c-clamp was maybe... 1/8th" too short to fit. But I got it. Yes I did. Hope I didn't fuck it up. lol

130 dollar mistake if I did.

Passenger rear completely torn down. Since I'm not replacing the caliper on this one, it took a lot less time.

Rebuilt

The area, and my new 2 ton jackstands. I need to go get two more so I can do the fronts also. :)

My two year old pads...
Passenger side on the left, drivers side on the right.

I think the caliper replacement is going to fix this once and for all... I mean look at this difference between the pads that were installed on the same day, 8.15.05.

Thursday I pulled my back hardcore carrying my wheel out to be washed, so I didn't work on the car at all today. It really pisses me off that I did that... cause I want this done by this weekend. :(

It's done! hahahaha IT'S FUCKING DONE!

I got to drive it, while Talking to Vs.

Yes... it sounds awesome except for the header -> cat bolts need to be tightened to take away the vibration and sound of 'hole in exhaust' I still have. But other than that, it runs!!
