Sine Netflix expects me to give them $5 more a month (yeah right, assholes), I am looking at Blockbuster.

What can current subscribers tell me about Blockbuster? What are your likes, dislikes, etc?

I've always like Blockbuster Online (by mail). Movies come very quickly, wide selection. The best part of it for me was being able to exchange at the store. You could probably double the movies you get by doing it that way. My store near me closed, but if you have a nearby store, I'd say go for it.

I think I'm missing something...

You're going to cancel Netflix because they're requesting an additional $5 a month for a service with unlimited movie streaming, and instead opt for a "service" that requires you to pay around $4.99 (probably more) for each movie?

Ummm, Blockbuster is only going to end up being about $2 more than the new Netflix plans would be. You DO realize they have a Netflix type service, right???

You do realize that Blockbuster won't even be in business by the end of the year?

Here is the classic case of Goliath sitting around on their hands while everyone else (Netflix, Redbox) stole market share. I can remember when DVDs first came out and Blockbuster took forever to even adopt them. This is when Netflix started and just crushed it. Then, Netflix starts the streaming and makes Blockbuster irrelevant.

Sometimes price isn't always better than quality.

Blockbuster has filed bankruptcy so I wouldn't go with them. Do you have any of those RedBoxes around? $1/day.

I'm still debating on keeping my Netflix DVD plan along with my streaming plan. It just makes it so easy. I don't have to worry about when I watch them and I don't have to go anywhere to get them.

just paid 3.99 per day for two movies from a blockbuster machine
you do the math
hate them

That's the kiosk. If you go with the order by mail, movies per month are unlimited. Here are the current plans. They also have ON Demand (for an extra fee I think). And games are included in the monthly fee.

Blockbuster still gets all the new movies first, even before Netflix. With the increased rate for Netflix, I wouldn't be surprised if Blockbuster gets a boost in memberships.

Redboxes around me are always pitiful, selection-wise. I think they had like Beverly Hills Chihuahua and a sold out Twilight movie. :(

I'd stay with Netflix, sadly, or become a pirate LOL

All moot since there will be NO Blockbuster. They are grasping at straws right now. :)

Who even rents movies anymore when you can download them on the internet? :ninja

Considering Blockbuster was acquired by DISH, I would not hold your breath.

they dont notice the real world and verbally speculate
