Okay... so i dont really need one, its more of a want issue. Right now i have nvidia Ti 4200 64 mb.. DVI, etc etc... its a pretty good card, but a couple years old. I bought a new 19" monitor for CAD work and solid edge stuff, so iwant something that will support these systems very well. Any suggestions on a card... i dont want to spend too much on one, but i dont want to downgrade either

GeForce 5950U w/ 256MB of on board RAM. :banana :banana :banana

They were uber expensive last year, but I'm sure the price has come down since then. Basically anything with 128Mb or better will treat you okay, but I would go w/ a 256 card so it'll last you a little longer.

Good luck.

that card is meant mainly for high end gaming - i think he said he wants a card to do design work. the ones i linked to up there are geared towards cad and stuff - not necessarily games.

i bought my computer brand new last year and ordered the AMD Athalon processor and an Nvidia GE Force 64 video card. The guy that helped me pick it out told me that the NVidia was made for gaming and net surfing. So far, Ive loved it. Ive been able to buy games right off of the shelf, bring them home and play them knowing that my puter could handle them.
