NBA Basketball Thread

I'm a little surprised not to find an NBA thread on here. It seems like a pretty popular sport. So I figure I'll test the waters.<b /> <b /> To get things started, who are you basketball fans cheering for this year?<b /> <b /> I'm a big Raptors fan. They're still young and frustrating at times, but I like the pieces and being able to watch a team developing its identity.

I'm a Nugget fan ever since Carmelo came in. They did a great job last season even though camby was a cry baby. but anyway, they turned well.But God I hate the Celtics!!! Not only did they get Ray Allen, they sweet talked Garnett too! It's like Lakers with Malone, O'neal, Bryant, & payton all over again. Lakers sucked though when they were there.

I like the Nuggets all right. I've always liked Kenyon. even though he's battled a lot of injuries, he always brngs it when he's healthy. As much as I'd like to hate him because of his shithead antics, A.I.'s difficult to fault when he hits the court. 'Melo's looking pretty impressive too. I hate busting the Celtics for shit that a lot of other teams are doing, but that kinda disappointed me. Celtics stood for the no-nonsense tradition of basketball. They stressed hard-nosed basketball, scouting and development. Now -incidentally after Red's passing- they ditch all that and somehow pull off two of the most lop-sided trades in history. With that and all the other shit that basketball's been through, I'm starting to become narrower in my interest. I pretty much just watch the Raps and the Suns.

Yao's been great since he got a little meaner. He's got some great hands.

There are too many Rockets who didn't pan-out as Raptors for me to cheer for them, but I don't dislike them, primarily because I like Yao.

Raptors got 'er done against the Sixers tonight. Could o' crashed the boards a little more, but that should shut some of the critics up for the time being LOL

Being from Boston I do have to say I am a Celtics fan (yes, even in the lean years) am not like the fly by nighters last year...through the muck and mud...yeah I cheered for them....

Lakers fan here being from So Cal. Team looks really good early--Bynum and Ariza (the two people that were missing from last year's run) are fitting in very nicely and its a better team than last year--exciting team to watch also. And Bryant is simply unbelievable with what he can do.

I was really happy to see Garnett and Allen get their rings. I questioned the acquisition, but Celtics fans definitely deserved another banner.


Kobe seems to be distributing the ball a lot better now. He amazes me with the way he can just take over the game even if he's being smothered. Definitely the Jordan of this generation.
