Ok. I said I'd do it...so here it is:
Xane Elijah: Xane is a form of John, which was my paternal grandfather's name. Elijah came from my maternal great-grandfather, Eli. Xane turns 13 this May.
Justice Blaine: Justice is a play on Augustina (many of the same letters occur in both), my paternal grandmother. Blaine rhymed with my oldest maternal cousin's name, Shane. Justice turns 12 this November.
Liberty Anastasia: Liberty is a play on Gilbert (drop the 'g' and add a 'y'), my father's name. Anastasia is from my ex's mother's middle name, Ann. Liberty turns 10 this August.
Darian Janelle: Darian is a play on Sandra, my mother's name (again, similar letters). Janelle was borrowed from a dear friend I had growing up. Darian turns 9 this July.
Liberty and Darian received the middle initials, also, from my ex's side. His mother and her two younger sisters all had the initials J.A., so we wanted to continue the tradition. Also, my ex's initials are A.J., so this all worked out just fine. *smiles*
I wanted to make certain all of my children felt as though they were truly integrated into the families, and since the name tradition wasn't in existence, I felt it necessary to carry on a few things where others did not. That...and I hated being named after a fucking soap opera character (General Hospital).
Another note...when I was in school, I used to tell people I would have at least two children named Liberty and Justice. Nobody ever believed I would do such. Joke's on them, eh? *grins*
