Tomorrow my most anticipated matchup of the Super Six tournament will finally take place, Arthur Abraham vs. Carl Froch. Both men are notoriously slow starters, so don’t expect much action in the early rounds. The last half of the fight however should be highly entertaining, both fighters should pick up the pace after the 4th or 5th round and from then on it will be an all out slug fest.

Most are picking Abraham to win by Knockout at some point in the fight, but I disagree. Both have common opponents in Jermain Taylor and Andre Dirrell. Both scored 12th round knockouts over Taylor, Abraham taking just 8 seconds longer than Froch to finish the fight. Froch scored a controversial split decision victory over Dirrell in his hometown of Nottingham, England. It was a very competitive fight but most feel that Dirrell should have walked away with the win. Abraham on the other hand was dominated by Dirrell from start to finish, eventually getting himself disqualified for striking Andre on the ground, there was no question who was ahead on the judges scorecards at the end of the fight, Abraham looked less than impressive.

It’s true true that Abraham probably has more power behind his punches but I think Froch will have the advantage in both speed and technique; He has the chin to take “King” Arthur’s best punches, I expect him to out point Abraham for a decision win.
