i wrote this as a lament for the fact that sometiems i feel like i can help...but i cant becasue its not my place.....its frustrating to no end.

i definitely know the feeling. It sucks because you lose the rights you once had, and when you are with someone you sometimes take it for granted...but when you lose it, its the only thing you can think about.
