Curiosity

Albert Einstein once said "I am neither especially clever nor especially gifted. I am only very, very curious." Many people can relate to this quote, for they are not sure what they wish to do, or because they cannot determine which of the many ones that appeal to them that would satisfy them in the long run. I relate to the quote, more through the latter option, rather than the first.
Like many young people, I wanted to help and serve the community, by taking on a community service job, like a fireman or police officer. This seems to be a trend, possibly rooted in the human genes, through social programming, or through the interactions the young group has with the rest of the world, and then making their own decisions.
Growing up, my mother always would get agitated that everything that eventually found its way into my hands was somehow taken completely apart, never to be put back together again. She would always tell me that I was that was responsible for her computer system’s problems. I would take it apart, to learn what was inside that little box, to try to understand what made it do its dirty black magic, what occurred to make me able to play my fun little games. To this day, it still does not work correctly.
Obtaining a basic and generalized education through the public education system of South Carolina, I was selected to a group thought to need more challenging curriculum. This was called the ACE program, at Hanahan Middle School. I really did not excel as originally thought, or at least to my best recollection.
Once I graduated from Hanahan High School in May of 2005, I took a year off from expanding my knowledge, through a two year or four year post secondary institution. I took a variety of jobs that never resulted in a solid work reference, the longest period of employment being a few days under one month. After that last job, I realized that I need a professional education, but exactly what I did not know at the time.
It took me one academic year, plus a lost friendship, to figure out that I want to become an engineer. As I think of it now, I am not so sure. My goal in life is to have fun. Sure, it is a general statement, but I do not know how to narrow it down to what that “fun” would be. As I see-saw through these life-changing decisions, however, I know and acknowledge that I do in fact need to make a permanent decision. Unfortunately, I do not know all of my options, nor do I really actively seek those options out as I should, and have been told to.
Einstein’s quip really describes who I am. I do not want to really pick out just one or two things to dedicate the rest of my life to. I want to be able to explore many different things. I do know that I wish to live the remainder of my aging years not on this planet, and I do believe the human race has the capability to live in the galaxy other than this planet. I would love to just discover what is really out there.

made an 81 of 100.

i need to clarify my writings. the structure and whatnot is decent. but apparently, i left my english teacher guessing on some, or thats what she told me in the graded document she sent back to me.

so, i get to work on it. and the 81 is a testament to those who think that you cant do decent on a paper that is due in less than one hour.

hello, my name is james, and i am a procrasinator..
