Got Tested for Whooping cough today, there is an Epidemic of it spreading around the area and they have both had a cough i cant kill with meds for about a weekish...

Results come back tomorrow or the day after so im keeping my fingers crossed :ninja

Good Luck! Mine avoided it, but I've seen kids with it, it's not nice. I hated my kids being sick, it made me feel so helpless, and frustrated, at times.

yeah same i cant stand it when they are sick, my youngest is very emotional when hes sick and a normal conversation about what to have on his toast in the morning soon turns to crying his eyes out.
My eldest is very quiet but he can tell me when hes sick, i think hes missing his dad too thats another part of his quietness

I'm new here, so I don't know your details, how old are your boys? Are you a single, or is he away, Eden was a fishing town as I recall, I was through there about 5yrs ago, on the way from Adld to Darwin.

My eldest is 8 my youngest is 5 Their dad is in QLD

WOW, thats such a wonderful age for boys, girls too, they are so knowing, and innocent, so "tough", and such babies still, full of beans, and questions, I remember those times with great fondness, enjoy them, they grow up so very fast.
My three cried themselves to sleep regularly, as pre-schoolers, when their mum went to Q'land, and never even said goodbye or contacted them ever again, but they got over it, even the eldest, who was ten, it was a difficult time.

No results today, have to wait a few more days, the coughing is making me sad though imagine the state of their poor little throats

Hot lemon and honey drink, it works a little better than anything else I ever found, just a suggestion, and sucking ice-cubes too. Good luck, I hope they're better soon.

Yeah My eldest just awoke from a 4 hour sleep, means hes really sick if he sleeps during the day.....

another night of cough medicine and antibiotics should suffice

Results have come back Doctor just rang me, Ayden is fine, But Kody has Whooping cough I feel so sad for the little fella
