I so agree! It quite sucked and is a clear departure from Stephen King where Good ALWAYS triumphs over Evil.... I was so disgusted I haven't watched it again. Which is a rarity for his movies with me.
No doubt... It really quite sucked how they ended it. It makes me think his accident really did mess w/his head and his writing style... Poor dude.....
I know I have something to contribute to this thread Dani, but can't think of it at this moment. GRRRRRRRR!!!
Oh! "Event Horizon" just came to mind. That was just stupid to swing from a nicely paced tight outter space, thriller, to suddenly, it's a trip to hell? Sam Neill's makeup was creepy. I was so disappointed. I've never watched it again.
I have to disagree about Shawshank. Although I would have liked it better if they had left the book ending in place, I don't think the "Hollywood focus-group" ending sucked either. But that's among my favorite movies of all time, so I'll defend the shit out of it.
Prisoners. Why leave it with no ending?! It was such a good film all the way through with brilliant acting from the two lead actors (Hugh and Jake), and then they left it with no ending. They tried to do an inception but it just didn't work. How annoying..
The whole final third of "The Dark Knight Rises". It just doesn't make any sense, it's riddled with plot wholes and unnecessary cheesy moments. It made me wish it was all an allucination induced by painkillers after Batman got his back broke - that would make so much more sense.
The Lake House. This was more of a situation where I knew the ending would be crap five minutes into the movie. I was watching it with my wife and I turned to her as soon as I figured it out and said. "don't blame me when the ending sucks."
