ok.......i get so close because i spend a couple of hours in a bird watchers hide......with a well stocked feeding table next to it........the real problem i have is the light and keeping them still long enough to get the shot

i do have a zoom lens but only a 300mm.......most bird pics you see in magazines etc are taken with a camera that probably costs 6 times more than mine and a 400mm lens with a 2x converter.....which in effect gives them an 800mm lens

but still........as long as i'm enjoying what i do and get reasonable results with the equipment i have i'm happy enough
