That is on some bullshit. How are you going to force a man out of active duty and cut off all his funds? He didn't leave by choice. I think it was excellent that they rallied for this new bill.

The US government has been screwing over the troops from the get go. When president Bush proclaimed that combat was over, it allowed the military to stop paying combat pay to the troops.

Bullshit. Absolute bullshit. I was over there from Feb06-Feb07 and got combat pay every single month.

It's no secret that this administration is no friend of the service men/women in this country. Not by a long shot.

So why stories like this surprise anyone is beyond me.

They never "stopped paying" the combat pay. What the article says is they were going to take a $75 raise out of it:

Unless Congress and President Bush take quick action when Congress returns after Labor Day, the uniformed Americans in Iraq and the 9,000 in Afghanistan will lose a pay increase approved last April of $75 a month in "imminent danger pay" ... Imminent danger pay, given to Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force members in combat zones, was raised to $225 from $150 a month.

I know. This administration has been so corrupt. Chaney is still a VP for Haliburton. Bush signed an executive order exempting Executive Branch members from conflict of interest laws...
