once they have a linux that will run .exe programs, i.e. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2. As far as using the internet its cool, but i have to be able to run KoToR II...

the use of windows and antivirus is linked to me ability to play games. If i have to go to linux for no viruses, then i cant play games. on the other hand, microsoft will probably use this as another way of tracking customers movements, i.e. "help make windows explorer better by sending anonymous statistics..."

Which they usually win. I don't see how anyone can make a case for Microsoft being a monopoly... there's always Linux and Macintosh - both are viable alternatives. Not only that but Google will probably try to release their own operating sometime in the future. They already have for the mobile phone.
