HD DVD will be the standard in the end. Sony always screws up trying to introduce a new format. Anyone remember beta? Thats probably because it died and VHS became the format leader.

The HD movies have more features and content on them. Now I have a reason to go buy one now that the price has lowered.

But Sony owns a movie studio to guarantee all their movies are BluRay, Microsoft doesn't. Last I heard the only studio left putting out only HDDVD was Universal, and they were thinking about dumping it in favor of BluRay
