I'm not saying there has never been a Dem who has not denied something, but in the Rep party it's all most a religion. Maybe they have been busy apologizing to each other for losing the last election but how about addressing the general public and apologizing for such a myopic view of reality? The message coming out of the Republican Party is one of denial.

The Republican Party is down to 21% regarding the number of people who identify themselves as Reps and the message is "we are going to stop apologizing"? How about talking about why the party seems to be hijacked by talk radio personalities, fostering a "purity" atmosphere that if you only agree with them 70% of the time, that's not good enough? Apparently Colin Powell is not good enough for the zealots. That would also make George Bush Sr and most of the Republican's from the 70's not good enough either. They absolutely do not have the big tent view at this point in time although there are some Reps saying they need to do that desperately.

There is certainly an air of desperation in the republican party! The further they push themselves away from the political center to the right and the further they get away from the majority ideals the more trouble they are going to have...but don't tell them that they are happy as long as they feel they can opress someone or "take away freedom in the name of freedom"
