Have you recently done any upgrades or Windows Updates ?

Have you installed new software on it ?

Brand and Model number and how much memory is in it ?

Have you check to see if the Memory ( SO-DIMM ) Module may have come loose inside the unit.. Sometime by jolting the Netbook, just like a Laptop, you can make them dislodge and cause memory problems..

Here is the Windows Link to Memory Dump issues.. Not sure it will help much if you can't start the Netbook.. :willy_nilly:

It's a Toshiba NB505. I upgraded the Ram from 1 gig to 2 gigs right after i bought it. Intel Atom processor. It has been a good computer. Worked fine this weekend. To the best of my knowledge it has not suffered a jolt. There was a windows update on the 25th. That might be the culprit. I attempted a system recovery to no avail.

did you try starting it in safe mode to see if it would boot up?

do you end up with a blue screen? If so what is the message you get? Should be string of xo etc as I recall

Even in safe mode after a few minutes you get the blue screen of death and before I can read it all it goes to a black screen to re-boot. I have a call in to a local tech guy. If we have to wipe it and restart it is no problem.

Yes, it probably is..

If you cannot bootup in Safe Mode it's a sure bet that Update was probably the cause. You said you used it all weekend but the 25th was Sunday.. More than likely after you updated you did not use it afterwards..

Could that update have been a ChipSet update for the Toshiba NB505 ?

Or one of the core components like the Video Driver ?
