Ok, so I need some help finding some medical research, if anybody can find any(If anybody does, I'd assume Mrs. Behavin knows where to find it!). I need to know what happens when you cut the Posterior Tibial Artery(Achille's Tendon), other than losing all ability to flex your toes. I'm pretty sure I know, but I don't want to jump into a debate and be wrong. And this isn't something for school, so it's not urgent.

how in depth do you want to get about it? If you want to stay pretty general webmd is a good source

Achilles tendonitis is a painful condition that can cause pain with every step you take. As the name suggests achilles tendonitis affects the achilles tendon. The achilles tendon connects the heel of the foot to the calve muscles.
Symptoms include pain which may be present at the achilles tendon during activity and may also increase once activity has ceased. Tenderness can usually be felt along the course of the tendon and in some cases there may be the presence of a localized nodule (small sack of fluid) on the tendon. Another sign to look for is that the soles of shoes tend to wear out quickly around the heel region.

I hope that makes sense?

My wife tore her Achilles Tendon 12 weeks ago playing Netball. She was unable to walk or even stand successfully. They put her in a cast for 6 weeks & since then it has been twice weekly visits to a therapist. She started putting weight on it about 3 weeks ago but can still only hobble around with 2 crutches. Hopefully in the next week or so she will be hobbling on only one crutch. It will be a long time before she can walk again properly.

She is hoping to start playing Netball again in March next year.

Thanks for all the help, but the main thing I'm looking for is what would happen if, say, someone were to take a saw and cut off their foot. Obviously, they'd cut the Achilles Tendon. Would they die of blood loss before anything else? Basically, what I'm asking is if someone were to imitate the movie SAW and use a hacksaw to cut their foot off, what would happen by cutting that tendon? Because before the dude even got out of the bathroom, he was pale white. And while we're on the topic of tender Achilles Tendons, would I have that condtion thing you mentioned? I don't have all of those symptoms. When I wake up in the morning, if I try to get up and walk, I can't barely move, it hurts. And if I even tap the back of my foot against a bar(Like the baskets under the desks at school), it hurts quite a bit.

You may have heel spurs - calcium growths that dig into you while you walk.

No, it doesn't hurt like that, my mom had those. It just is really hard to walk, but then it starts to get easier, it's like that Tendon is tender or sore in the morning.
