I say Mark Sanford who voted as a three term congressman for 3 of the 4 impeachment articles against Bill Clinton said he did so to restore morality. Do you believe he should now be impeached for his actions as a Governor? If not or so, why?

“He lied under a different oath, and that’s the oath to his wife,”

^ That's what Governor Sanford said about Bill Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal.

I find it terribly ironic.

Mark Sanford supreme hypocrite! Question!!!!

Answer - he's a politician, so no surprise here.

It's sad when I find I have better morals than those who supposedly lead our country. But then all the really capable people - the ones who should be our leaders, wouldn't dream of getting involved in the mess our political system has become.

Fine, impeach him, and the rest of 'em while you're at it!

Lying to your wife is not a criminal offense and therefore not impeachable.

Clinton was not impeached for sexual misconduct or violating any moral codes. He commited perjury, plain and simple.

Is this guy a total dickwad? Yes. Is it karma coming home to roost for bashing Clinton? Yes. Is it the same circumstances? No.

AAhhhh

Was the little wifey beside him pledging her support?:24:

(but with the dirty look on her face)
nope

for once the wife stayed out of the spotlight

This kind of crap is what drove me nuts about the reps and made me a libertarian. They had nothing left to try to go after Clinton during his elections so they resorted to the family values bull shit. Talk about stupid. Every time something like this comes up it bites em in the ass. And they still have not learned.

he should not be impeached for infidelity. That was another idiotic thing the reps did going after Clinton. If you are gonna use that card it better be a winning hand. All that did was to make them ripe for the hypocrisy down the road.

What he must be removed from office for if his not letting staff know where he was. Assuming that is the case. There is no excuse to be unavailable for a day let alone 4 not matter what the circumstances. So far I have not heard that he did tell anybody.

I expect him gone by the end of the week. Despite how moronic these religious right hypocrites are they usually do not try to hang on forever unlike many of the democrats other than Spitzer. You can debate me on that but other than wide stance Larry I can not think of those on the right that have stayed in office.

Did he lie under oath before a Congressional hearing?

"Was he under oath" is a very convenient rational if you are partisan. Did the Bush Administration lie for the last 8 years to the American public? It does not matter if he is under oath or not. The damage was done. Regarding Clinton, that was a matter between him and his wife. And hee was under oath because Republican forces had been on a 8 year politically motivated fishing trip. It was none of their business.

If you go by Sanford's own words, of which you have now reminded me (I didn't realize he was in congress at the time) yes, but not for his infidelity as Sanford would have preferred. He left the country without informing his Lt. Governor, thereby leaving the state in a dangerous position should an emergency arisen. They would have wasted precious time trying to locate him.

I didn't realize he was another of the "holier-than-thou" Republicans from the Clinton era. Karma hasn't been gentle with them. Gingrich, Hyde, Larry Craig, Mark Foley, Ensign now Sanford.

Funny, you weigh in on both Bush (in a bad way) and Clinton (in a good way). Then you accuse someone else of being partisan

Of course you also conveniently didn't answer the question that was posed.

:clap Bravo to both posts...

Impeached for infidelity? No

Impeached for abandoning his post? Absolutely.

As far as the infidelity part. You just point your finger and laugh at his hypocrisy and hope the voters turn on him during the next election (since he's the one that decided to make it a public matter)... but I don't think you should impeach for cheating on your wife/husband. That's between the married couple.
