Is there some sort of mandatory law I don't know about where being single and 24 is a crime? Am I supposed to 'settle down' and have kids right now?

I just don't get it, my brother has 2 kids and my sister is working on her fourth. I do not want kids right now. 6 nephews/nieces is enough for me getting my fill of kids whenever they visit.

Why is it that everytime my relatives see me the first questions are got a girl? got a wife? when are you having kids?

just shut the fuck up about it already! It's not going to happen anytime soon!

I'm too broke right now spending 40-50 a week on food, let alone having a kid and a wife to help feed.

Why is it so common for people with kids to ask someone that? I mean my aunt even asked 'when are you gonna settle down and have kids?' Settle down from what? My massive block parties and drunken binges followed by the massive orgies I don't have?

I just bought a damn house and all I ever do is work and sleep. lol

I don't know. I'm feeling more and more pressured to get back to dating but I still have three years before I can get some real breathing room on my finances.

However, in owning a home i found a great place to possibly meet some women.

A flower garden shop. Yes. I actually went there to get ideas on some flowers to plant around the house and holy crap single women everywhere.

lol

My brother is 25 and single. Never been married, has no kids. He is loving the single life right now. He was burned real bad @ 4 yrs ago and just hasnt had the urge to get out there lately. He just bought him a new house about 3 months ago and has a new Jeep Cherokee that he bought last yr. He is able to spend HIS money on what he wants and doesnt have to worry about anyone else except for himself.

Don't let other people influence and pressure you, James. Remember what your parents said about peer pressure?

Hell, you're only 24; my brother is 41 and has never been married. Of course all the older women want to fix him up with their daughters and grandaughters to get him married!

I think that idea of getting unmarried men married is a "tradition" or annoyance that will never go away. It seems like people are thinking that if you're single then you're unhappy, but they don't look at their own unhappy marriage or other people's unhappy marriages and think, "Why should I want him to unhappy?" or maybe they want you to be as unhappy as they are?!!!

I thought you were dating Amber? :confused :confused :confused

But seriously, who gives a damn what other people think? Screw em. It's your life, not theirs, and they've got no right to tell you what you're supposed to do with your life.

My brother is 30 and has no kids and no girlfriend. He claims my kids as his own sometimes...and he thinks its better that way..this way he can play with them whenever he wants to and just send them home afterwards! When they ask you when your getting married, ask them when are they going to mind their own business.

Just do things as and when you want to, it dosen't affect anyone else, it's your life not theirs. Its not like you come on here moaning about a lack or sex and not having a girlfriend so you obviously seem quite happy with where you are right now.:)

24 is still moderately young to be married...most people that I know who are married by 24 have been dating someone for a very long time, or are very mature for their age. I get people ask me all the time why I am getting married so young...and I'll be 24 in less than 6 months. So don't feel bad...my parents didn't even meet until they were 26...they didn't marry until they were 28..so you are not so "behind" as you think, just because there are a lot more people getting hitched at younger ages these days.

let them ask, they're just making conversation.

the average age of marriage is getting older, more to your late 20's early 30's. statistics say that people your age that rush into marriage usually divorce in the first few years.

if you can hook up with a cutie at the flower shop, do it. you have the money to support yourself, and you can find a girl with the money to support herself, and there's something to be said for company. you could change working, eating, and sleeping into working, eating, and sleeping together ;)

True that Haus!

Seriously James, the only reason people bring that shit up is cause misery loves company. They cant stand the fact that people like you and me can play Need for Speed for 8 hours straight and not get nagged at.

You should read a recent entry in my blog entitled "We Have TV Now"...I am often grilled by the older female members of my family over why I am not married, and produced children yet.

You're still relatively young yet, James, and shoud just live your life at your own pace. :)

I dunno. maybe it's time I start getting back into going out and trying to find women to be with.

Perhaps I may enjoy talking to someone in front of me that I might care about.

You women aren't expensive, are you?
