i just use: "My house burnt down, if you dont believe, my mom is in room 202 at university hospital" the teachers usually believe me.
OMG.. I need to remember that for this semester LOL
i dont really use it b/c i wouldnt ever want to put my mom in such an awkward situation, but i bet it would work.
I never made any excuses, I always had my assignment! and even if I didn't, my dad was the principal, exceptions can be made!

LOL It's okay. People who don't pay attention to politics live longer happier lives I think. When we went to war with Iraq, it was because everybody thought they had weapons of mass distruction. Well, that turned out to not be the case, but we did find many WMD related programs that were in various stages of completion.
