Man admits plot to behead soldier
A 38-year-old Birmingham man has pleaded guilty to plotting to kidnap and kill a British soldier. Parviz Khan, an unemployed charity worker, intended to seize and behead the unnamed Muslim serviceman, Leicester Crown Court was told.
Khan pleaded guilty earlier this month, but his plea can only now be reported as the trial of two alleged associates has begun.
Amjad Mahmood, 33, and Zahoor Iqbal, 31, deny involvement in the plot.
Mr Mahmood pleaded not guilty to failing to tell the police about the plot, while Mr Iqbal denied possessing information likely to be useful to terrorists.
Both men are also accused of intending to supply equipment to terrorists operating along the Pakistan-Afghan border.
They were arrested in a series of high-profile raids in Birmingham at the end of January last year after an investigation led by West Midlands Police Counter-Terrorism Unit.
Khan was later charged with plotting to kidnap and kill a member of the British armed forces between 2 April 2006 and 1 February 2007.

Looks like he would qualify for a room in Guantanamo.

I'd rather him in a prison where his basic human rights were administered so when he was cut up and killed by other prisoners, he couldn't be defended by people breaking human rights laws!

So it is not ok if someone is legally sentenced to death in a controlled environment, but it is ok if they are illegally cut up and murdered by prisoners.

That logic makes no sense imo.

Peter says he doesn't support the death sentence and then he goes and posts something like that ... the logic makes no sense. If you don't support the death sentence you would not want him killed for his crime by the government or from other prisoners.

I have a problem with legally sanctioned murder. Convict the people who killed him too but for manslaughter.;)
