Long Hair

Anyone with really really long hair?

I can't keep mine from getting a bunch of knots in the back at the nape of the neck.


I'm growing it out for locks of love, but I am seriously ready to chop it off. I'm debating on whether to cut it now because it is about 14" from the pony tail, or if I should wait til the new year since it was my New Year's Resolution.

I just can't stand these big knots!

you need to get a good spray on leave in conditioner, I had that problem when I had long hair

yeah I was using this grease stuff for frizz and tangles, but it was TOO greasy since I have so much hair.

Do you have any in particular you recommend?

What kind of shampoo/conditioner are you using? Do you brush or comb? Have you tried braiding it while you sleep?

I vaguely remember my hair doing that for a short time. I think it was 'cause of the shirts/jackets I was wearing.

I use Aveeno shampoo that I just got (it's awesome!) and some Aveda conditioner which is also pretty awesome.

I do braid it when I sleep, and I have gotten in the habit of almost always having it up so it doesn't tangle, but this hair must weigh a good bit. It makes my neck hurt and gives me a headache.


I comb it because I have that curly hair that just frizzes if you brush it.

you still need a leave in conditioner that you put on when you get out of the shower and towel dry your hair, mine would tangle just from drying it.
Also if its giving you headaches hun get it cut now dont wait, why suffer anymore when its plenty for locks of love already and honestly isnt going to grow to much in 2 months anyway.

I've always just used Biolage's Leave-in Treatment. I didn't have issues when my hair was longer before I donated it. But I also almost always put it up while I was wearing a coat, but that was mainly because of static. Damn static!

I'm excited.

and we don't have to worry about static here!! it's so damp I doubt even rubbing a balloon on your hair would do anything!



I'm going to try until at least my birthday in two weeks...if by then I can't get this knot thing figured out, then I am cutting it off. No one wants ratty hair that tangles anyways!

Agreed. I love all Biolage products so I'm pretty close minded when it comes to other products. But then again, it's mainly because I know Biolage is awesome!

You could have them put in some layers to help with the weight and still be able to donate it. That's what I did to keep my hair from being too heavy. I have very thick hair and it helps a lot compared to keeping it all one length. That's an idea for you maybe?

I donated last January and I was soooooo glad to get the weight off my head, but I miss it sooo much now. Can't wait til it's grown out again to donate again and go through the wait of growing it out...haha

I have layers. I just started last month letting them grow a little so that my hair can be some what the same length and a clean slate when she cuts it all off.

I am SO excited. I may not make it.....


How much longer do yall think it would grow in two months?? an inch?

Really depends on how fast your hair grows. It wouldn't be too crazy to think you might get another 1/2-1 inch in a couple months.

I didn't donate to Locks for Love the place I went to switched because of the Locks for Love scam of them charging for the wigs. I really really wish I could remember where mine went to. I will have to try to remember to call them tomorrow and find out.

I think it may grow a whole inch...but oh my god is it really worth it?!

I think not. I think I'm going to make a hair appointment tomorrow!

I dont think its really out of line if they charge something I mean they do have to make money somewhere so they stay in business.Im sure its not cheap to make that stuff and keep up and running
