One of my hobbies over the years has been to take off on long tours by bicycle. I have cycled about 34,000 miles through nineteen countries. My longest single tour covered 4,500 miles and lasted 93 days. That kind of cycling is really great for your health. It gives you a view of the world you cannot get any other way, except for walking. You can go 50 to 65 miles per day, and 70 to 90 miles a day is fairly common. I have bicycled across the United States six times.

Does anybody here do cycling like that?

:)

I went on a cycling tour of North Cornwall one time

It was hard going. For one thing I kept falling off

The pump got caught in my trouser leg, and my sandwiches were badly crushed

A cousin of mine once cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats. Furthest I've ever cycled is about 100 miles in a day.

Actually, that route you speak of is quite a popular one in the UK. I have never done that myself. I have bicycled estensively around England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
