So I'm interested in dual booting Linux, which Linux distribution are any of you currently using or recommend (or is there a negligible difference?) I'm thinking about using Ubuntu, openSuse, or Fedora.

Ubuntu is good, though I haven't tried the others.

Are you trying to dual boot with Windows 7 or Vista? Quite easily done with the GRUB editor, QGRUB

I like Ubuntu. Fedora is also good.

Ubuntu is at 9.10 now but I was very disappointed with Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 due to some bugs that affected me in ways that would really annoy me. So I use 8.10

Fedora is at 12. It's very slick, looks similar to Ubuntu but has nice blue background and app install
looks more intuitive than Ubuntu in my opinion.

I still prefer using ubuntu but my friend likes fedora.

I'm running Win 7. Looks like QGRUB's development was discontinued, but a new application has been developed for its replacement, KGRUBEditor. I actually just came across this as well.. GNU GRUB - GNU Project - Free Software Foundation (FSF)

I think I've decided to go with KUbuntu. This is my first time setting up a dual boot system. Should be fun!

Yeah, I just couldn't think of that name except for QGRUB

Well, I got Kubuntu installed and everything seems to be running great. It did take me a while admittedly, but I didn't realize that GRUB was part of the installation, thought it was a different application that I needed to install.

Only if you want something fancy.

I remember YEARS back, there was a Boot menu that I had tried which had very nice GUI control panel and from there you could easily add/remove any boot entries. And it had mouse pointer.

I got a kubuntu VM that I run and it works pretty good as a Linux desktop, I also like Fedora. For servers I like CentOS
