Recently went into maplin to ask about linking my laptop to my smart tv i was told that i need to spend £40 on a cable and a device to convert my laptop to show up in HD on my tv. I said i'm not really bothered about it being in HD i just wanna play my music through it the guy then tells me this cannot be done without it. i'm sure it can be done without it was just wondering if anyone knew how or could point me in the right direction? Thanks........

Depends on your hook ups available on you computer and your TV. I was able to hook to my big screen with an S-cable from my laptop. HDMI is infinitely better if both are available. Many smart TV's also have a USB port if you want to but your music on a thumb drive.

Your smart TV (not familiar with the term) probably has a VGA cable as well. Another good way to run video from your laptop.

I see the link ads are back. I have to admit, I like them more than actual ads at the top of the page. :)
