Seriously, should we bring this in as a law? I only ask because I read another story today about one of these families that have 12 kids (Literally) and they get loads of money in benefits for them, the parents haven't worked a day in their lives, and the family has all the luxuries which the familes near them don't have even though they work!

Now all this wouldnt have been possible if they had not had as many kids, so I ask, should we bring in a limit as to how many kids a family can have?

I'd set it at 3, then when one reaches 16, you can have another, and so on.

What say you?

I understand the concept and in some ways I would LOVE to incorporate some sort of level on the amount of children and/or have a way in which unfit to parent people stopped having children....HOWEVER.....it's a dangerous route and I believe MORE in people having the right to lead their lives as they want to

Or maybe just let them claim benefits for the first 3 kids. That could also work, sure they might still have 12 kids but wouldn't get enough money. Enforce it now so the familes with 12 kids suffer. Let's see you afford Sky HD now you scrounging cunts.

wow that's not fair for the other families.

I don't think there should be a limit, though, but if someone wants a lot of children, they should be able to afford taking care of them

I'm totally with you on this, Springsteen. It's all good and well to allow people the freedom of choice, but when our natural resources become stressed (as is already the case) and our industries destroy rivers and forests on a daily basis, it definintely becomes time for people to sit up and take notice. The Earth decides how many people should be on it, and in my opinion we already surpassed the correct number decades ago.

Why not?

The only reason they can afford to take care of so many is because they get so much money to take care of them. If the benefits were ceased after the 3rd kid then I believe there wouldn't be as many multi child families (to that level), do it now to punish those who had all the kids.

anywho...i believe that as long as you can take care of your family and not rely on welfare to support you, then have away.

I have nothing against a family that looks after their kids, I would rather have parents that have 6 kids and they all get treated well than a family with 1 kid that gets abused. The welfare point is kinda my way of thinking, it should be allowed to a point, but not for 12 kids. 3 at most.

I'd say the bigger problem is with a society that allows your example to happen.

donnie you lived here, so lets take houston as an example. here you can have 6, 7, 10 kids and no job. then we just "bail" you out and you dont have to work at all.

i have actually heard a mother tell her 16 year old daughter to get pregnant, so that way there would be more "income" coming into the household

Well, it happens here all the time. Not 12 but I was out yesterday and unless this woman was babysitting she had six children following her... And I've heard a few stories, of a family that just popped out kids so they could get benefits. So if society is already letting it happen why not put a stop to it?

Yeah, like China.

They have a 'one child' policy implemented. So if you're not a fan of personal freedom, maybe you should move there.
China... the place where girls are worthless as far as " the family " is concerned. I've heard it said that some kill 'em there and keep trying for a boy. Could it be for real? :eek I'm glad that concept hasn't been adopted by the free world cuz girls are neat. :)

I think you should have as many kids as you can afford. Take the Duggars at 18 of em. No public assistance there. Even before their tv show.
