This forum has been around a while, and looks like it's had plenty of posters. Hopefully still does. So howabout a group history lessson?

Anybody hook up with each other on here?

Any big forum meltdowns?

Who's the forum whipping boy/girl? Or established troll?

Was there an OTz Golden Age? Y'know, back when wotsischops posted and everything was hilarious and Secret Santa was in full swing?

Or anything else that a filthy rookie like myself should be aware of?

I think everyone has their own personal golden age, rather than the forum as a whole having one. The times on OTz that I remember most fondly are going to be different to those of someone who's been here a lot longer.

I don't know what kind of forum you've come from, but around here it's not... diplomatic.... to announce loudly and publicly all the people you'd like to see thrown under a bus :winking:



Best times... for me, one of my favourite points was when we did the Survivor games. One of the other members, Zirconaz, ran a survivor-style game on the boards where people were split into teams and did different tasks to win immunity against being voted out. It all got a bit dramatic towards the end, but overall it was a lot of fun, and I was relatively new when it took place so it was a nice way of getting to know people :p

That's cool. On my other forums it can get spiteful, unpleasant or downright malicious.

Interfering with other poster's personal lives is bang out of order for me, but I don't mind if people don't like me and want to say so. It's happened plenty in the past. Whatevs,it's just t'internet, innit?

Maybe it's a domino effect thing. Like if you do the unthinkable and mess up someone's life offline, you then relegate yourself to deserving the same treatment, but if someone does it to you then they too then leave themselves open to it...

Like if you started abusing me senseless, sending disgusting PMs (of the bad kind) and even saying hateful things about my tribe, I would not think highly of you. But it's no justification to rock up on the doorstep of your workplace and make threats or spread nasty rumours.

I know there are two sorts of poster - truthful or gimmick/fantasy. Either way, what happens on the internet stays on the internet imo.

I'm honest, and relatively open online. But unless I invite you into my real world, stay the fuck oot. I expect the same approach from other people.

Which is just me being arrogant and assuming I know best :snob:
