Anybody with any advanced computer knowledge, please, save me >_< Apparently somebody(No names, MY DAD) went to a porn site and it gave us a pretty bad virus. Or at least I think it's a virus. I can obviously still access the internet, but everytime I open the homepage, no matter what website I use for a homepage, it goes here-

http://warningiepage.com/

I assume this is wrong. I've scanned numerous times the entire system(Computer) using McAffee from Comcast. No spyware, malware, viruses, etc. show up. But Windows Defender shows me severe/medium threats, and when I remove them I have to restart. I have a "protection bar" tool bar that won't go away, a SpyHeal that won't uninstall, "System Alert" that won't uninstall, and I think that Warning page above is wrong, because I dont' even have Mozilla browser. Plus, the computer hasn't had any info stolen, changed, no freezing(Other than usual, it always used to freeze. I save lots of pictures XD), no lagging, nothing. Pretty normal other than this shit.

Any suggestions/help?

I have the new Internet Explorer(7 is it? It has the tabs). It's been loyal all this time. But here's more details. Right now, I have my homepage set as Comcast.net So if I click the home button, it goes to that page listed above(Refer to it as the warning page for now). If I type Comcast.net in the address bar and click go, it goes to the warning page.

As of now I can go to OffTopicz, but lets have another example. If I go and change my homepage to www.offtopicz.net I cannot come back here until I change it to a different site.

It wasn't me looking it up. My dad has like, 20 CDs. Creepy knowing your parents do this >_< But feel free to send the passwords XDD

And I'm gonna go with your plan Ali, because I just read that link the Criminal guy sent me, and the spelling is atrocious. Most OFFICIAL true sites don't have spelling like that. I don't trust it at all.

I'll download FireFox and take off IE and see how that works, then I'll post an update.

your not getting it, changing browsers wont do anything. ITS A TROJAN and it IS IN YOUR COMPUTER. Changing browsers wont make it go away. go into google and type in "warningiepage.com" into google, and see the information on it.

Well I just got FireFox downloaded and I don't have that page now. I'm gonna uninstall the IE and then reinstall it and see what happens. I do get it, the point is I dont' trust that website you gave me. And I really doubt that it's a trojan in my computer, I've used 3 different types of Virus scans, searched for the type of trojan it is using the Search on my computer, and nothing comes up. McAffee doesn't even show anything, and that virus program came with Comcast when we got it.

its quite common to know never to use ie..

there is one unfortunality though - ie is fully integrated into the windows operating system, or in otherwords, uninstallable. the add/remove windows components in the control panel with the internet explorer is a fucking joke. windows explorer(explorer.exe) is internet explorer(iexplore.exe) set to use file:///<path>..

thats about it..

Yea, there really is no way of removing IE from a windows machine. The best thing I can tell you now that you have gotten rid of that nasty little thing is to use firefox all the time accept when absolutely necesary(some banks and things require it cause there website is not standards compliant), and download an anti spyware program and run it from time to time. There are a ton of free ones out there like The home of Spybot-S&D!, and Ad-Aware @ Lavasoft - The Original Anti-Spyware Company - Lavasoft

The best tool is your head tho. I have not had a piece of spyware in 2 years and have never had a virus and I have been online since 96 and have been on some pretty shady sites. If you download something make shure its the type of file its sposed to be(if you think u downloaded a movie make shure its not an executable file), allso dont just look at the icon and know its what its sposed to be cause I have seen them try to disguise an exe as a movie by making its icon look like a video file icon. If your not shure about something scan it with an antivirus. It only takes a coupple of seconds to do and could save you a huge pain in the ass. I have seen all this stuff fixing where other people didnt think and have done some pretty stupid stuff.
