WOW. That's amazing!

Look at how fine focus that's in. And at night!

I think wolves are amazing. I was one of those dorky kids walking around with a wolf and horse shirt on when I was younger.

:24: PBBB has both a horse w/foal & a white wolf tshirts:thumbup

I think it's a great shot too. Plus, I love the style of the gate.

That is a great shot! Wolves are amazing creatures, but dark they are. I feel that picture really captures the hunter side of a wolf. He's addiment on getting something and will leap boundaries if need be.

If you knew anything about both photography and wolfs you might change your mind. I don't think it deserves the award on it's own but it is a truly remarkable shot.

Right, so I don't know anything about photography, have you ever seen any bit of my work? And I don't know anything about wolves, even though I worked with them at zoo for like 4 years? Interesting.

Anyways, I said it was a fantastic shot--as it would be incredibly difficult, in not impposible, to get BUT I still don't like it. Someone can spend years working on a masterpeice painting and have everyone in the world love it, but a few people can not like it for personal reasons. I don't like it, because I don't like the way the flash looked on the wolfs fur and the way it's legs were folded back into it's body, made it look like it's legs were all scrawny (like deer legs) I think it's a fantastic shot, but it doesn't really show of the beauty of wolves to me.

We all have are personally opinions, but just because you have been doing photography for longer then me, it certainly does not mean that you have the only correct opinion, and I am just a moron that doesn't know what she is talking about. I didn't say it was a bad shot, just that because of personal prefrence, I don't like it.

Um.... yes as a matter of fact I have. Remember those jumping goat pics? ;)

You can't compare the actions of a captive wolf vs a wild one let alone throw a photographer in the mix. That wolf shot is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The legs folded back give it a motion effect... as in a real live wolf. Ever watch coyotes hunt rodents? Same posture. Damn fine I say. The wolfs fur also looks amazingly fallish as well.

I don't profess to be an expert but as an individual that loves to shoot nature stuff I can appreciate the effort, expertise and shot of a lifetime that many folks dedicated to the hobby or profession extended. I would kill three goats for a chance at one wild wolf. js
