So lastnight was my sister-in-laws birthday, My brother and parents, and her parents all went out to dinner. Well the lady at the table next to them collapses and they end up having to perform CPR on her until the first responders get there, then when they get there they dont have it together so they still have to continue until the ambulance gets there. My sis-in-law is an RN, and brother is going to school to be one, and her dad is a first responder luckily, so they did have it under control, Im so proud of them, they were able to take control of the situation and respond in a professional manner. So Im curious how many of you know CPR? Could you have done the same? Im trained, but Im deathly afraid that something like that is going to happen to me and Im not sure I would have been able to maintain my cool like they did.

They have rules that omit you from any legal repercussions if something you do actually makes their situation worse. Something about good semaritan clauses or somethin'

I'm pretty sure I would just hope that someone else knew what to do. I took child CPR classes way back in the day, like 10 years ago, for when I used to babysit as a job.

I doubt I'd be able to help anyway, I'm way too small and weak.

i am trained in CPR and get my training updated every year. I have performed CPR on a 3 year old, and it's very scary, but you kind of run on adrenaline when it's happening, and you don't really even think, you just do. This child was my next door neighbor's son...

I know how to do CPR, but (knock on wood) have never had to do it.

I'm not sure how I'd handle a situation like that.
