At work that is!
I dont know if it was a full moon or what the deal was but I am SO glad Im off tonight!
There was a little girl @13-14 yrs old that was out on the lake with some friends on a sea-doo, she fell off and got ran over and it hit an artery in her leg and she pretty much bled out in the lake while waiting for an ambulance. They got her to the ER but there was pretty much no hope left. So so sad.
Then there was a 55 yr old lady who was supposedly cleaning out her pool and fell in and pretty much drowned. She ended up going to ICU on lifesupport. Everyone was kinda suspicious of her husband that if maybe they got into an argument and maybe accidentally shoved her and thats how she fell in. Anyways, he said he was going to go home and take a shower and then got a phone call from their 21 yr old daughter that he went home and shot himself!! So now that 21 yr old not only has lost her mom but her dad too :(
This next one, I dont know whether to laugh or not. This guy was at a hotel at his bachelor party (suppose to be getting married today) and he was on the 3rd floor very intoxicated and fell off the balcony onto a car and bounced off the car onto the ground. He went to ICU too. I think he will be ok, eventually. Just wont be getting married anytime soon. lol

See I couldn't be a DR or a nurse just because blood, burns, scrapes, and needles make me feel sick to my stomach...

but shit like that would scar me. I hope you have a nice wall built up in your concious Amy, I dunno how you do that job.

They ended up taking mom off life support later on that evening.

When I first started working there, there was many nights and days that I would come home crying. I guess after awhile, you get use to it and try not to let it bother you. Some things are harder than others. Like the 8 yr old boy whose mom locked him in the trunk of the car on purpose because he was being "punished". That one I thought about for quite a while. I cryed when I got off, hell I cryed when he first got to the ER. It affected quite a few people.

Oh, you poor dear. That was quite a night...all of that in one shift. What do you do in the e.r.? My close friend is a tech in the ER and she is tailor made for the medical field, but she gets shaken up with the kids with traumas, since she became a mother.
