I don't know why I never thought about it, but I'm not sure I ever realized he was "master" on I Dream of Jeannie. :dunno

I loved him in Dallas and am curious to see where they'll take the NEW installation of Dallas w/ JR dead. I had a feeling he would be passing soon, as you could see just by looking at him that he was in very poor health. He was a legend as far as night-time soap villains go, though.

Thought that was Bill Bixby (sp?) and the other guy (forgot his name).

After years of guest-starring in television series, Hagman's profile was raised when he was cast as "genie" Barbara Eden's television "master" and eventual love interest, Air Force Captain (later Major) Anthony Nelson in the NBC sitcom I Dream of Jeannie, which ran for five seasons from 1965.[SUP][11][/SUP] The show entered the Top 30 in its first year and was NBC's answer to the successful 1960s magical comedies, Bewitched on ABC and My Favorite Martian on CBS.

I was never a Dallas fan. I remember watching the I Dream Of Jeannie tv movies with Barbara Eden in the 80s... I think there were 2... I always thought it was kind of lame the way the last movie ended when she wiped his memory.

I thought "Dallas" was pure TV crap, thus never watched it, but didn't it have one of those dumb endings as well?

I thought the "Newhart" show was pretty good, and thought they spinned their "dream ending" off of Dallas?

The "it was only a dream" ending wasn't the end of Dallas...it was the demise of the show, though.
