Smart,,but yet stupid as they then followed the law and registered as felons as required by the locale.
One of the victims families notified authorities.
Lets see forge papers...go back to the same place where the crime{s} was committed,,,then go a short distance away and register as a felon.

Pretty scary how easily they were able to escape... and pretty funny how quickly they got caught again. It was almost like they wanted to be recaptured. Still, we shouldn't be too flippant about it. If these guys were able to escape, imagine how easy it might be for some more intelligent/more dangerous criminals to do the same - without getting caught.
