Eastern karma suggests natural consequences of actions, while Western legal systems enforce justice externally. Which framework is more effective in promoting ethical behavior in modern societies, and can they be integrated?

In the west karma is taken very lightly, it is mainly understood as a divine justice where people get what they deserve. However, in Hinduism and Buddhism karma is not actually a social justice. Karma is related to liberation and rebirth.

Eastern views of karma treat justice as something woven into the fabric of reality. Actions naturally return to the doer, not as punishment from an authority but as a consequence of moral cause and effect. It’s slow, personal, and often unfolds across lifetimes. Western ideas of justice focus more on systems, laws, and judgments made by institutions. Justice is delivered externally and usually aims to correct wrongdoing in the present, not through a long moral action
