His campaign starts up AttackWatch... a website dedicated to finding negative things people are saying about the President and then supposedly providing them with "the truth".

AttackWatch.com

Get the facts. Fight the smears.
Join Attack Wire—and help stop the attacks on the President before they start.

When another unfounded attack surfaces, we'll arm you with the truth so you can share the facts with your friends and family.

What a total and complete joke. It sounds awfully authoritarian if you ask me... collecting information on people that have negative things to say about the President? But maybe that's too conspiracy theorist and paranoid of me.

Authoritarian? :24:

Oh yeah, that's the word of the day when it comes to this site... I can't wait until they put together a montage of all the right wing nut jobs saying, "Authoritarian" :24:

It will almost be as fun as watching the montages of "Reagan" and "Tax cuts" after a republican debate...

Compiling a list of supposed dissidents smacks of authoritarian leanings as far as I'm concerned. But like I've said, I'm a conspiracy theorist.

I guess you didn't bother to go see for yourself...

I just looked at a couple of the debated items. One was a claim that President Obama is planning to use a United Nations treaty to take away legal firearms from gun owners in the US. They didn't just deny it, they actually linked to credible sources saying it isn't true... credible? Yeah, how about this source... http://www.nraila.org/legislation/read.aspx?id=5855

Partially it depends on what is done with the info. Btw, is TSA/Homeland Security protecting us authoritarian? ;)

I can't believe that you actually asked that question... you're damn right it's authoritarian. They have complete control over an entire aspect of our ability to travel through our own country.

Authoritarian

adjective
1.favoring complete obedience or subjection to authority asopposed to individual freedom: authoritarian principles;authoritarian attitudes.

2.of or pertaining to a governmental or political system, principle, or practice in which individual freedom is held ascompletely subordinate to the power or authority of thestate, centered either in one person or a small group that isnot constitutionally accountable to the people.

3.exercising complete or almost complete control over the willof another or of others: an authoritarian parent.

It seems to me that the TSA certainly falls under the category of authoritarianism.

Lol. I agree with you. I was thinking most of our conservative thinkers (not necessarily you) welcome authoritarianism, and giving away personal freedoms in the name of security. So you have the fiscal responsible GOPpers behind one of the largest bloated bureaucracies intent on reducing personal freedoms. Another reason to love'm.

You should know by now that I'm not a GOP conservative... I'm a fiscal conservative that pretty much doesn't like anyone that we have in office right now. I will support Republicans over Democrats in some situation because I consider them to be the lesser of the two evils. Or there are some GOPers that I actually will actively support, like my own congressman, or Meg Whitman when she ran for governor here in California. I pretty much vote third party most of the time though because both the Dems and GOP generally suck.

I'm pretty certain that our other ardent conservolibertarians around here feel the same way...

Yes, they do, just like most Dems. That's why you & *argh I forget the name* were in agreement that welfare recipients should be spayed or neutered.

Absolutely correct. Don't forget that the bureaucracy has strong bipartisan support.
