Just ordered some new parts

AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition Deneb 3.0GHz
Wintec AmpX 4GB (2 x 2GB)

Give me an extra core over my Phenom II X3, and an extra 400MHz on all the cores as well, which will be very beneficial to me. Plus I'm doubling my RAM to 8GB, which will eliminate my memory issues, as I've been running at 70-80% memory usage lately when I have everything I need going at the same time. When it dips into the cache, then I'm just screwed, so this will give me a lot of headroom. Next purchase is going to be an SSD sometime next month, probably the OCZ Agility 2 120GB.

This is only a temp upgrade though, as I'm planning on going to an i5 or i7 next year, with 12GB of RAM and a WDC Black 1.5TB HDD. Then some lucky person is going to get the X4 and 8GB of RAM

The motherboard I just got has the ability to unlock cores without the need for software. That Phenom II X3 has 4 usable cores but they lock one.
I haven't tried the core unlocker or the turbo functions on it yet, but I here good things.

The cores are physically on the chip, but most of the time that means that they either couldn't pass certification for 125W usage as a Quad core, or some other issue. You can occasionally find a chip that has four good cores on it, but there's no guarantee.
