Don't you just hate it when good bands, who release a number of good albums... but just don't know when to stop! Then they release 1 or 2 shocking albums!

I say this because one of my favourite bands released 5 good albums... then there most recent album is horrific! I have a number of bands who have done this! Forcing me to go elsewhere for good music.

Any examples?

Well, the fans of Weezer tried offered to pay Weezer to stop making music. That's pretty funny, I think :D

Genesis.....anything after Abacab was pretty much wasted time
the Who....after Moonie died...eh...
INXS after Michael's death...see the who
Queen...after Freddie's death...

Really, haha? I never heard that but it's funny!

Yeh I guess the list is endless when it comes to the classic old school bands! But I don't really listen to music that is older than like 10 years, and already I feel alot of the bands/artists I listen to should call it a day!

maybe not albums but re-forming and touring - that should be discouraged - The Police spring to mind

Queen...after Freddie's death...

To be fair though, Freddie would of wanted the band to use the materials he recorded to be used for an album as he wouldn't of wanted them to go to waste. Greatest Hits III didn't need to be done but triolgies need to be completed. Stone Cold Crazy shouldn't of been done. Absolute Greatest is a compliation inside of a compliation really but worth it. The stuff with Paul Rodgers, I did enjoy as did alot of people. Deep Cuts (set) and The Single's Collection (set) wasn't really needed but is good for collections. Rock Montreal and Live At The Bowl could be seen as trying to show Queen outside of Live Aid and Wembley, so they could be seen as necessary.

I could go on really....

I didn't much like the last Radiohead album, but they've made consistently good albums for nearly 20 years, so they were due a bad one. I wouldn't be surprised if the next one they do is rubbish too.

And I won't listen to Pink Floyd post 76. It just became overly self indulgent; and Roger Waters got too obsessed about writing songs about school. Poor little public school boy, it must have been awful...

Some artists like Dylan, Young and Cash who nearly fell off the radar in the 80's, came back and did some of their best stuff in the 90's and 00's though...

311, or so my boyfriend says. I disagree though, I thought they were mediocre at best from the start :p

Smashing Pumpkins. I'm still not over my disappointment from Zeitgeist. I spent half a year or more being a SP fangirl. I was the annoying girl that would talk about how epic their comeback would be wherever I went. God I loved them.
It's pretty sad when a shitty album can scar you more than some ex's :24:

Damn. I was about to say something halfway contradictory and then I realized I wasn't allowed to. :24:

It's frusterating when they play music I like from a band on the radio. But when I buy the CD and it stinks, it's wasted money.

Years ago I purchased a Coldplay CD. I was disappointed. The only two or three songs I liked on it I had already heard on the radio a million times.

Similar, but different...it bugs me when the radio version of a song is completely different from the CD version of a song. Jewel is the WORST for that. I like the CD version of all the songs on "Pieces of You" and the radio versions are complete shit.
