Wal-Mart will have to "roll back" some of its cash and give it to its employees. The retail giant must pay at least $78-million for forcing employees to work through their breaks, and off the clock.
The class action suit was brought by Pennsylvania employees who worked for either Wal-Mart or Sam`s Club from March 1998 through May of this year.
Wal-Mart faces a slew of similar suits around the country.
The Bentonville, Arkansas-based company employs over 46,000 people in the natural state.

and these people actually did it? If Meijer or ingram had forced me to work through my breaks off the clock I would have told them to fuck off.

But my breaks were paid anyway.

In England I believe this company goes by the name of ASDA which is where I do most of my shopping and is one of the best and cheapest supermarkets imo. The've recently started a new policy where under 18s get the same minimum pay as the over 18s.(The minimum pay law over here is higher for over 18s.) I don't really agree with this as under 18s don't have to pay tax so in effect the're getting paid more than over 18s who also have a lot more bills to pay than them, in general.

but im kind of glad i dint turn it in. they never did that to me. i never had to work on lunch break ever. i worked full time cause i started there right before i dropped out so i could get full time and if i worked 9 hours i HAD to take an 1 hour for lunch and if i worked 8 hours i had a choice if i wanted to take either a 30 minute lunch break or an hour. it was my choice. and i even got 2 paid 15 minutes breaks. i liked working there at the time. it was a great Job for a 16 year old.

well, walmart aint really gonna feel anything - they will just hike prices up, and then the other stores, if any are left, will start to see some more business.
