Anyone done it? I saw a guy buying a lotta kjuice at the natural food store last month... maybe 3 weeks ago... I've been mulling it over. I think it would do me some good and detoxify and cleans my system. Thoughts?

Juice fasting is likely to lead to binge eating, I wouldn't recommend it. One can add juiced fruits/veggies to their regular diet to get added nutrients, but the body cleanses itself well enough, really. Increasing fiber and drinking more water helps that.

These juice fasts can be dangerous on the extreme end, but tend to lead to pigging out when your body starts to crave calories.

thanks... I'm used to not really eating properly so going without a few meals wouldn't really be a drastic change in the way I usually eat. I mean, like I've been known to not eat breakfast... (Mainly cause I wake up too late and its too close to lunch time.)

It's hard to eat perfectly, for sure, I'm just leery of these types of things because restriction leads to binges. Just like a preacher's daughter LOL, the more strict you are with them, the sluttier they turn out? The more you restrict food, the worse you'll binge later.

Whenever you wake up, it's good to eat pretty soon after, because while you sleep, your body has gotten rid of it's glycol stores. You'll burn through whatever you eat when you first wake up faster.

Idk, I just personally have tried liquid diets and always regret them.

Hi Guys...i think lotta kjuice is not natural at all . If you really want to have fasting with juices then you may take Mango , Orange juices which you can prepare at home with natural fruits .
I buy juices from an organic grocer... Of course they're natural...

Ya, it's true. A lot of packaged juices are full of junk and added sugar. Juice machines are a great investment if you like juice.

I used to fast regularly when I was in my 20's, its a great way to get rid of the crap built up in your system.

I did water fasts though. Nothing but water for 3 days, with a 2 day fruit and veg diet leading up to it, and afterwards. I would do this every 2 months.

Your skin will glow, your eyes will sparkle, and your piss will be good enough to drink:thumbup

i hear proper exercise and diet is still effective
It's not just too lose weight. People juice fast to cleanse the system of crap like toxins in the stuff they've eaten during the week and to get rid of water gain from too much sodium intake from foods. Why don't you research before making such statements.

I'm a bit pessimistic about all these 'cleansing' and 'detoxifying' ideas floating about. I get the feeling your body will get rid of toxins anyway if you stop eating them.

Unfortunately....all food nowadays has some sort of toxins/irradiation/genetic modifying/pesticides added or absorbed, so the only way to stop eating them...is to fast.;)

and thats why a purely fruit/veg fast defeats the purpose.

So when we say a juice fasting, we mean lots of juice?

Is this like the "I could care less" debacle? :D:p

I agree. I've heard a lot of warnings by medical professionals about cleanses and fasts, claiming they are vastly unnecessary and can be dangerous is done too often.

In Asa Andrews book he suggests fasting one day per week. Not one single full day, but from like 6 pm one day til 6 pm the next so you can go a full 24 hour fast but still not have a full waking day without food.
