WAXAHACHIE, TX-February 7, 2006 - He's not Johnny Appleseed, but plenty of pot could be blooming this spring thanks to a fleeing suspect in Texas.
Milford Police Chief Carlos Phoenix says the guy was tossing pot out of his car window as he was speeding from the law on I-35 south of Dallas. Phoenix says the suspect probably tore open and threw out nearly 20 bags of marijuana. Authorities worry that illegal weed will sprout like a weed come spring. Phoenix tells the Waxahachie Daily Light there was marijuana flying everywhere.
Phoenix says when they finally arrested the guy, the suspect was covered in pot, too. As word spread about the police chase, some people went to the scene to try find some of that flying marijuana.
