Why in the hell has this guy not been mentioned for running for president by the republicans?

Or is he waiting 4 years in the even Obama gets re elected

The left might not like the guy because he is conservative but he has all the chops to run. IMO

For the liberals like Minor and Tim tell me what is evil about this guy? As he is a republican and a conservative.

I have not heard him comment on the religious crap the republicans puke but maybe I missed that so enlighten me please.

I am surprised you do not know who he is. He was in the house for a few years then I think took a couple years off and then ran for and became governor of Ohio. He had been on many of the news shows giving opinions over the last 10 years or more.

You mean Governor John Kasich? The one who pushed through Senate Bill 5?
The same senate bill that was added to the November ballot as Issue 2? Where it will be repealed by the citizens of Ohio???

This abortion legislation was rammed through by Kasich only to be added to Novembers ballot for repeal. Only 230,000 signatures were needed by the end of June to get it on the ballot. Yet when volunteers went out, they easily got 1,300,000 signatures, 5 times what they needed... I would say that Ohio isn't very happy with Kasich

And I really don't like what he stands for...

You had me confused as it appeared you meant it was about abortion

It is about collective bargaining rights for public sector unions it appears. Much like Wisconsin. No surprise it would get on the ballot in a veto attempt as you have all those union workers along with the private sector ones that would be vehemently against anything to hinder their assumed sacred rights..

We shall see how it goes at the election. You may well be surprised.

any yeah we would never see eye to eye on this one. It would not be an issue were it not for the fact the insurance costs paid and benefits these public sector unions are getting nationwide are not inline with the private sector nor reality as far as being affordable. How else would you propose getting a handle on that if these unions get a rubber stamp from the democrats on these benefits so it takes little to get enough on the other side to get them when you have a democrat governor. These benefits accrue over time so what was done 10 years ago can have an impact years ahead

You say the union workers are getting too much in pay benefits and pension compared to the rest of the US workers, I say it's the private sector that's getting the shaft.

You want the unions to reduce pay, give up benefits and have no pension where I would rather the public sector be brought up to at least that level.

This is the problem with the republican mindset. It's always a race to the bottom where I would much rather see the US middle class worker be brought up to match the production output.

nd you liberals are content to bury your head in the sand. In a capitalist society you don't bring up the private sector by raising the costs for the public sector. As much as I wish that were true it aint. And there lies the problem with a conservative that is a capitalist and the socialist/statist mindset.

The private sector will always adjust to the times. As much as it hurt me financially to see my home value drop by a third the fact is housing prices were artificially inflated. How would young people ever be able to buy a home if the prices had not adjusted? There other examples.

The fact is the public sector pay and benefits were out of touch with reality. We are going broke in case you did not notice. It is either fire a bunch of those people or make the adjustment. Basic economics Tim

Please explain this to me because it makes no sense what so ever.

Corporations are making more profits now than in any other time in history.

I might be able to understand your position if corporations were not making any profits or is they were going out of business left and right due to high operating costs, but that isn't the case.

So please explain what you mean...

Hey unions are guaranteed by the Constitution... I heard it here (and so you won't think I'm poking fun at anyone in particular, I like that idea. ) :)

You say the union workers are getting too much in pay benefits and pension compared to the rest of the US workers, I say it's the private sector that's getting the shaft.

This is exactly right. Kick the shit out of the unorganized workers, then try to convince them the organized workers are over paid, and bingo, Mr high faluting CEO and the sinister BOD wins.

you guys appear to not understand capitalist economics

Capitalist economics = Pay workers as little as possible, prevent universal health care, remind labor they are lucky to work for minimum wage and increase profits for the owner class.

Did I miss anything?

My impression is that if those in charge have morals and real compassion for their fellow human beings, capitalism, socialism, even communism could work. It is people that mess it up, greed and the absence of morality.
