John Galliano Sacked from Dior

I believe that he should be allowed to express his views, no matter how crazy they are. If the company wants to sack him that's fine, but he shouldn't be held legally responsible because of the fact that he has offensive views.

It actually looks like he might go to jail for this. Where he did this it is a crime to say the things he did

Galliano will go on trial over the accusations, the French public prosecutor's office said. He will go before a court where he could face up to six months in prison and $31,000 in fines if convicted. Galliano defended himself saying he was provoked and subjected to verbal harassment.

Yep, that's what I heard. Laws that limit somebody's free speach on grounds that it's offensive are rediculous in my opinion.

I might completely disagree with someone and even dislike them because of their views. However, they should still have a right to express those views.

Should hate speech be free?

I think that would make a good topic for discussion.

I think there's a difference between expressing yourself, and making offensive remarks aimed directly at someone. You can have an offensive opinion but you sure as hell don't have to go out of your way to tell other people they'd be dead if Hitler were still around.

This is true. People should be free to speak their minds. I also feel that after speaking one's mind an audience should have the right to bludgeon the shit out of a derogatory, frickin' moron. That's just my opinion.
