not make a lot of money doing something that I love. I plan on going back to school next year taking online classes to become a vet tech. but after school I think the start out for pay is around 30k a year....yeah not good, but i know i'll love my job

I'd take the job I loved anyday. The quality of life would be way better despite the difference in cash.

Well, I've done them both.

I worked for a huge corp for a while and made a nice fat paycheck which was great, But the job was awful, the place was filled with a bunch of corporate weenies and it was a really cut throat environment. The sort of people who would smile in your face while knifing you in the back. So I quit. Went back to school and became a vet tech, didn't make a lot of money but I really loved my job!
Then my son was born and had so many problems I couldn't go back to work. (Not yet anyway.) The Doc I worked for is still calling me wanting to know when I might be able to come back, but Mak has therapy 3 times a week and tons of Dr appointments ongoing as well. So it wont be for a while yet.

I really miss it too!

Any job where you are working for someone else blows, so since that is the case, I'd take the job making more money so at least I could spend it and attempt to feel better about my shitty job. ;)

Thats a tough choice.

Being that I have 3 kids to take care of, I need something that makes pretty good money.
The job Im at now, I love it. Its never boring, never a dull moment. But the people I work with, thats a different story. Some I love and some I wouldnt trust with my dog.

I work a job that I absolutely love, the money can be good and can be bad. I'm on the bad end of the money tree right now but it was my choice. Could change soon though. One of the very few jobs that you have potential to earn $100K+ a year without even stepping a foot in a college. Takes alot of sacrafice or some damn good luck to hit that mark though.

I'd be tempted to take the job I hated for the big bucks, so I could maybe retire by 40 or something, and then enjoy the $$.
But for the long term, I'd take the awesome job for less money.
I'm lucky though, I do what I love and I'm happy with what I earn.

Thats the perfect balance. You know what I'm looking into. The job would be hellish on one side.. but gravy on the other. Insane pay, but at a price. Tough choice that I shouldn't be making right now. :smiley24:

I wish I could find either one of those choices. I make little money doing what I like, but only sometimes. Some of the crap we get into is just annoying.

I love jobs where the clients have a sense of humor. Always makes the job more fun.

But anyway, coming off my personal experiences, I'd rather do a job I hate for a lot of money. Then if I could get some money saved up and things paid off and got tired of it, I could quit it for something I loved.

The back haul is gravy. The haul out to California has to be there in 24 hours. Its a 24 hour trip from here. Thats something that was left unsaid until I dug a little deeper into it. Not impossible. Highly illegal. But thats why the pay is high.

On the way out would be 24 straight. I've drove 30 straight on my way to Pennsylvania. Its ass & illegal but possible, you're paperwork just has to be in line for it. The drive back would be relaxed. About 3 days to get back. Thats the gravy.
